Awards

MacKenzie Parker (CBS summer 2005) was named as a Beckman Scholar at Montana State University for the Fall 2006-Spring 2007 academic year. She worked in Trevor Douglas' chemistry and biochemistry laboratory. Her project is titled: An investigation of the DNA-binding properties of two novel Dps-proteins from the Archaeans Prococcus furiosus and Sulfolobus solfataricus.

Robbie Mealer (CBS summer 2004) received a Medical Scientist Training Program Grant from the National Institute of Health (NIH). He als received a 2006 MSU College of Letters & Science Dean's Award for Academic Excellence and a 2005 Award for Excellence frm the MSU Alumni Association and the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce.

Andrew Schumacher (CBS summer 2004) received a 2005 Carbon - Clarke Fellowship to continue his undergraduate research. He is currently in a PhD program at University of California - Santa Barbara.

Lisa Sun Rhodes (IMSD) who received recognition at the American Indian Physicians conference for her udnergraduate research in the laboraty of Dr. Christa Merzdrof (Cell Biolgoy & Neuroscience).

Denean Standing and Khena Bullsheilds (IMSD) who received awards for their work at the 2004 SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science) conference. Read More

John Kinross-Wright (summer 2004) who completed a trip in the fall to Madagascar collecting exotic plants and microorganisms for study in the laboratory of Dr. Gary Strobel (Plant Sciences and Plant Pathology). Read More

David Tarby (Summer 2003) and Cynthia Japhet (Summer 2004) were inducted in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Read More

David Tarby also received an honorable mention as the Outstanding senior from Phi Kappa Phi. Read More

Eric Seigfried (Summer 2003) received a scholarship from the Montana Space Grant consortium to continue undergraduate research in the 2004-2005 academic year. Read More
